Hello All:

I'm having trouble getting in enough protein daily.  I average about 50 to 55 grams daily.  I hate protein drinks...which by the way most all have some type of soy in them.  I have tried several different protein powders that you mix with water and they taste horrible.  Even though I love cheeses, eggs and milk I am allergic to them.  Therefore, most of my protein sources come from meat, beans and nuts.  Anyone else get all of their protein requirements in this way??  Any other suggestions would be helpful.  Thanks.

Well, you need a little more protein than that, but you're close.  Have you tried Syntrax Nectar?  You mix it with water, and I don't think it has any soy in it.  It's not my favorite protein drink, but I don't think it's horrible.

Also, Vitamin Shoppe sells a protein powder called Nutribiotic.  It's vegan rice protein.  No dairy, no soy.  Because it's rice protein, it's not a complete protein, so while you could mix it with water, it wouldn't really do you much good that way.  I mix it with milk, so it is a complete protein.  I know you can't do that.  But you could mix the unflavored Nutribiotic with other foods, like beans, to boost the protein, and then it would be a complete protein.

Hi I'm lactose intolerant, so I can get away with lactaid milk, light and fit yogurt and cheese. everything else makes me sick. Are you allergic or just intolerant? I don't have any suugestions if you are allergic. Most of the protein powders are made of whey which is dairy, so be careful. Wish you luck, Barb
