no loss

I am onto my 4th week...I did the pre op diet of liquids and lost 14 pounds...had surgery and lost 1 pound at my 1 week dr visit. at 3 weeks when I went to puree I gained 9 back...i still cut back and now lost 4 /...what am I doing wrong?  I am at my 1 month visit...measuring...being ever so careful...drinking all my water etc

anyone else have a history like this?

Now that you've lost some weight, you seem to be on track.  You had fairly new surgery that most of us are simply not familiar with.  However, the ads for the Realize Band tout the support provided for people who have it.  I suggest that you contact your surgeon's office to find out if your weight loss is atypical.  Even if it is, it may not really be a problem.  When I first joined OH back in July, 2000 I contacted a man who saw the same surgeon as I did.  Even though he had an open RNY and did everything he was supposed to, he didn't lose much weight for the first 6 mos post-op.  Then he dropped weight like a ton of bricks.  I'm just saying that we are not all alike.  Patience is a tough virtue to practice while dealing with weight loss.  I know that I have it.  We just want to lose weight quickly and see our excess weight as a hindrance to progress in our lives.  You will continue to lose weight especially if you are careful about what you are eating as well as getting in your fluids and exercise.  I wish you continued success.  You may want to post here more often (in addition to other forums).  I know it's hard to keep up with treads on the Main Forum, but at least anyone who does see your post can respond to you.  The biggest problem there is that what you post today may be buried several pages back by tomorrow.  And, most of us only look at the first page.

Since the Realize Band is a new procedure, you may want to contact Member Services at Oh to see if they can st up a Realize Band Forum.

I saw a friend for lunch on Tues and he told me that a Realize Band is just like a Lap Band.  He said you may want to post on the Lap Ban forum to get information about what to expect post op with this type surgery.
