Menstrual cycle and my bottomless pit

I tend to eat a lot the week prior to my period.  I've had my band since 4/4/08 and have only had two fills.  My doctor suggested my fills be very spread out with small amounts of fills.  I will have my third fill 7/16/09, so happy!  I've never reached having a 2.0cc fill ever.  I know its time to get the fill.  I have 20lbs til my goal weight of 125.  I've lost 50 lbs to date.

Anyway, anybody get so hungry during their periods? Also, has anybody's band been so loose during this time?  I've read most people get tighter, mine seems to get looser.  Help...!

I can't wait for the answer to your question!  I am fighting the carb monster.
Thank you Aunt Flo!
This month has been particularly difficult for some reason and I am having difficulties keeping a grip.

Thanks so much for your reply!  I started my period today and went on an eating binge.  In order for me not to gain weight during  my period, I do the atkins diet.  Eating proteins and no carbs.  It helps!  I even lose weight.  I've had a doctor prescribe me with the appetite suppressant Phentermine and I will use it at times to help fight off the hunger.

Because I tend to crave carbs during my period, I allow myself to take Atkins shakes as well as Atkins chocolate bars.  As soon as my period is over, the raging hunger is all gone.   Who would have guessed.  I get my third fill Thursday and will have to see how this fill affects my next period!

Oh yeah, I started my period this morning and have been tons of nuts and protein bars.  I feel like an out of control psycho...lol!

Carb cravings are the worst during PMS.    I agree - one of the best options is to focus on having protein during this time  - as it seems to slow the hunger.

I am the SAME way!!!!!  I had RNY though.  In feb.
Now, I am due to get period within the next week....UGH!!!

Tonight for dinner, I had a small baked potatoe (no skin), half a hot dog (no bun), and a small tomato slice.  Is that a LOT of food for being 6 months Post~Op?!?  Text me: 814 823 7712
