Popsicles are ok, right?

I am nervous that I am eating too much. A lot of people talk about not being hungry and I admit that I don't get "hungry" but I do want to eat. (It's summer and I'm bored and I'm so used to eating tasty stuff when I'm bored.) I know this is just a habit and it's head hunger but it's very frustrating.

I don't want to stretch my pouch. I am eating about 3 ounce meals 2-3 times a day. (I'm getting in all my fluids and protein in the form of a shake).

So the thing I want to ask is about popsicles. I am in love with them. But I don't know if they count as meals or not. They liquify so I think they count as liquids right? So it's safe for me to eat them throughout the day right?

Please help!!

I was told that they are liquid but should be sugar free.
The eating while bored is a huge deal.  We all fight it, but I am trying to ask myself if I am hungry or is it in my head....man it's tough, if I did not fight that I would not have become obese!
good luck and enjoy popscicles

Thanks. I know I need to fight it but it's hard when it's so boring. I think in a few weeks when school starts up again I will be able to busy myself up pretty good.

I was told they are counted as a liquid, have you tried the Edy's Fruit Bars SF?? They are to die for, you think you have real fruit in your mouth!!! I found I love anything really cold since surgery so popsicles are my friends!!!!! I also just tried some of the Skinny Cow Ice Cream treats and I didn't dump so I am happy about that!! Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been the best decision besides marriage and kids that I have ever made!!

I was told they were a liquid too. It's probably a good thing because I have lived off of them! The Edy's SF pops are absolutely to die for! I don't know how many box's of those I have gone through in the past 2 months! I have trouble drinking just plain water --which I drank by the gallons before surgery-- and so that is my way of getting my fluids!

Eat as many sugar free popsicles as you like. They can't hurt you, only help.

its a BIT high, but not terrible.  I eat the Rita's Italian Ice (sugar-free of course)  that's like 17 carbs for a 6 oz serving.

From one popsicle addict to another, I'd say go for the sf popsicles, but just remember that even though they are considered a liquid, they *do* contain calories.  (somewhere around 15 calories per popsicle, for the Popsicle brand.)  So for example, if you ate 10 popsicles in a day, that's at least 150 extra calories right there.  (Not that you would or even could eat that many.)  But they are empty calories, aren't they?  It's a shame they don't make sf protein popsicles.  Or do they?  Hmm... I may have to experiment with Crystal Light and protein powder and see what I get.

Anyway, as long as you're keeping track of your calories &/or carbs, I would think you should be just fine.  Btw, I have eaten more popsicles in the past two weeks since my surgery than I have anything else (i.e. broth, water, Crystal Light.)  So I feel ya, gf!

I am also an Edy's Popscicle fan! They are fabulous! I am 5 days post opt and my biggest challenege has been dry mouth! They gave me some sort of swabs in the hospital that literally made my mouth raw. So the cooler stuff has been wonderful!
