Terrible stomach noises

I am 8 months post op and have lost over 100 lbs now.  Recently though, I have been feeling really bloated all the time, and as soon as I  start to eat or drink something, these terrible noises start in my stomach almost immediately.  Anyone have any ideas what this is?  I thought it may be acid reflux and gas, but I take a med for that and also chew antacids.

Just wanted to share that I have a  noisy stomach. Not sure if its the same as what you have.
Mine is like gurgaling air, sometimes I have to apologize for the noise in public.
But I have also learned  not to eat or drink anything at least on hour before I go out.
Its mostly just agrevating...kind of like having the hiccups.

Thanks Janice, its good to know that it isn't just me.  It is gurgling noises, and they start almost immediately after putting something into my mouth.  Almost like the food or liquid doesn't even have a chance to get to the stomach yet.  Ive apologized several times too, it is quite embarassing, but people are getting used to it now..  Thanks for the reply.  How do you feel? since we seem to have had the surgery the same amount of time ago.

I don't have an answer for the problem but wanted to let you know you are not alone. we  had our surgery on the same day and I have lost 93 lbs. I too have been very bloated for the last 2 weeks, I have noise in my stomach but no more that usual for us RYN people. I would see your doc on this seems suspicious! Good luck

I too suffer from this issue. It's horrible!  I am 3.5 years out and down 130lbs. I have had this issue since surgery.  It is quite embarassing, especially to me being a nurse leaning over patients for treaments, IV's, etc. I have to take anticholinergics to stop the increased gastric motility.  I take lomotil, bentyl and hyoscamine 3 times daily before meals and at bedtime.  I have also had to start taking lactaid for lactose intolerance.

I wish I could tell you it gets better, but I can't really say so,,since I am still having those issues.  It really makes me not want to eat.  But those meds stop it and without them I definitely wouldn't eat during the day.  I also take Prilosec to prevent regurge.

Good luck, and I hope it gets better for you.  You may want to look into these meds.  Let me know if you find something else to help it!
