Not losing weight
I had surgery on April 7th and lost the 10 pounds of fluid I gained at the hospital from IV's and such - but I have not lost any more weight - when does it start to go? I am getting really frustrated. I don't feel any restrictions from my pouch and am hungry most of the time. I feel cheated that I still feel hungry - why didn't it go away.
First thing you have to do is give yourself a break...your body has been through an awful lot and your mind is going through even more. Are you drinking all your fluids? taking your supplements? measuring your portions? cutting out all carbs for a few days? heck, measure your body or try on clothes, sometimes there will be changes but not on the scale. I lost really slow at first then all of the sudden every two weeks buying smaller sizes. Be good to yourself and keep posting, asking questions and learning about your new lifestyle. Keep yourself busy that helps too.
Thanks for the encouragement - I know I'm not getting all the water I need during the day and sometimes I'm late with eating. It's hard at work to remember to drink fluids. I'm going home tonight and trying on a few things that have been tight (thanks for the idea).

I had surgery 3/4 and lost 9 # the first week. The second week, I lost only 1 #. I also felt hungry and wondered if my surgeon forgot to make my stomach smaller. I made sure I got in my water and kicked up my exercise routine. I also took my measurements. Once I was able to eat something other than pureed food and increased my fluid intake, I realized I was rarely hungry and was satisfied before I was through with my meal. I started losing weight slowly but steadily by the end of that first month and started dropping inches fairly rapidly. I also feel getting in your fluids is a key point.
Adequate fluid and protein are the keys here. I do find I'm less hungry when I eat more protein. Exercise, even a little bit, is also essentially. My first 2 months post-op I was barely able to walk to the bathroom but I did as much moving as I possibly could while in bed to kick-start my metabolism.
