I am on my 2nd fill, at 4.5 cc's and I still feel hungry and am thinking about being hungry. Generally, how many fills do you really start to feel less hungry? I have pb'ed once since my 2nd fill but it was myown fault, i ate too fast and didnt chewe it good enough. That was DEF painful... other than that everythign goes down ok and easily. I can easily eat a cup or more of food. Can someone share their experience with me? Thanks!!

Hi, Kristen my name is shell and am  currently a Lap-band patient as well and my suggestion to you is ask doc to give you an upper Gi as soon as possible cause their could be a leakage are a mechanical failure with your band i had these same issues at one point of time are you could be aperson that needs a tighter band but if you have this test done it will detect the promblem its better now than later cause you do not wanna pick that weight back up cause youve worked to hard but get that done as soon as possible and let me no what happen?

Hey Kristen, I think you need a fill.  I had 5.5cc's in my 10cc band in Jan. and was feeling a little tight at times like in the mornings and then it went away after a few weeks so I went in on March 9th and he said he'd give me a small fill to top it off, and when I sat up to drink the water I was so full I could'nt keep it down so he took some out and tryed again to drink the water and still was uncomfortable so he took more out . I really don't know how much I have now he said 5.7cc or so but I have been hungry all the time . I even ate 3 peices of pizza and before I couldn't eat 1.  I am going in on Monday for a fill but I am nervous about getting to full again ,but I have to do something. I have not lost much weight in the last 3months and am really upset.   Just talk to your Dr. about a fill cause your not at your sweet spot yet  or you would know it.  Margo E.

Hi Kristen!  I had my band July 3rd last year.  I have since had many fills and many "unfills".  I'm getting to the point where I'm leery of thinking about them even though I know I'm not at my sweet spot.  My first fill was 6 weeks after surgery.  I started out I think with 2 cc's.  I was going about every four weeks for a fill until December.  The fill I had at the beginning of Dec. was WAY too tight and I had to go back the next day and have fluid removed because I was throwing up EVERYTHING!!!  It was so bad, I was off work for 2 days.

I knew that there was a possibility that I could get a fill that was too tight and thought, well its just one time, no big deal.   I couldn't get back into my doc for another fill until the 13th of Jan YIKES!!!!!!!!!  I had to go over the holidays with a loose band!!!  So I went in Jan for a fill, it was fine.  Felt a little restriction but still kind of loose.  So I went back in Fed.  Same thing, no enough restriction.  They said I was basically getting back to where I was when I went in Dec.  So then March rolls around.

My March fill was awful!  Another Too-Tight fill, another 2nd trip to the doc to get fluid removed!!!  So I went back April 8th.  Not only did I get stuck about 5 times because they couldn't get on my port because its tilted, but again 2 days of throwing up!!!  HORRIBLE!!!!  I had gained so much weight due to having my fills undone, I was almost back to my starting weight!!!  I sat in the exam room and cried thinking about how I failed, not only myself but everyone watching me!

I admit I fell off the wagon when I was able to eat thinking well, it will all get better when I get my next fill.  However, that didn't work as good as it was in the beginning.  I was down 50 lbs at one point until Dec and now I'm lucky to be down 17!  I have been doing as they said though and writing down everything I eat and watching my calories and my protein.  But it still doesn't seem to be working!  I'm at a loss now!  I'm feeling more restriction than I have in a while but I think I am still able to eat way more than should be possible.

The thing that I keep trying to remember is this is a tool that only fixes the stomach, it doesn't fix the mind so I have to get mine back on track.  I wish you the very best!!!!
