Never hungry!

I am 7 weeks post RNY.  I am never hungry.  I couldn't care less if I eat.  Maybe its because nothing really appeals to me. I force myself to eat,and drink protein shakes, to make sure I get in my protein.  Has anyone else experienced this lack of appetitie?  I am sure it won't last, and I shouldn't complain.  I have read that your appetite becomes stronger after 12 to 18 months.

I have also found that when I eat, I can't tell if I am full.  I have had times where just one bite puts me over the top and food seems to stick in my chest.  This has caused me to vomit on more than one occasion.

I haven't had that problem, but my husband has had trouble with the protein lately.  So, besides using the milk and powder mixes, we also bought some New Whey Liquid Protein by IDS.  It is only about 3 ounces a serving and you can get it in 42 grams of protein or 25.  It might help at least get it down easier.  We are not quite a month post RNY.  I was actually hoping I would be one of the people who could care less about food after, but so far my problem is more the opossite.  Do you measure your food out with a measuring cup or measuring spoons?  You may need to check with your doctor to make sure you don't have an infection or something.  Of course, I've heard that a lot of people have the same problem you do.

Wish I could be of more help.  I hope you are feeling better soon and able to keep your food down.

I'm never hungry, I still have to force myself to eat.  I think my nerve is healing though, because today I felt empty, it wasn't hunger, but I actually felt that my pouch was completely empty.  Food still doesn't appeal to me, the thought of it does, but when I go to eat, I'm always like "blech"
