Too much weight is back
I hate to admit that I have gained too much of my weight back. I was at 175 and am now at 225. I knew I would gain some back because at 175 I was in the hospital for back surgery. I had my RNY surgery in May of 2005. Now, how do I get back on track to get this extra weight off? Lots of emotions going on!
It's not too late!!! I had my surgery in Dec. 2005. I gained thirty pounds back, mainly within the last nine months (and I am not pregnant lol). It is very discouraging, but you've gotta to say, "never again, never again will I return to my old-self"! January 1st I started the South Beach Diet. I read the book and discovered that it is high protein, good carb and it keeps my blood-sugar stable. I have had an increasing problem with hypoglycemia; where my blood-sugar would drop into the low 50's several times a day. Since I started the diet I have not had one problem with my blood-sugar, no hunger and I have lost 6lbs in six days!
I pray you too can get back on track; you have come way to far to turn back!
Blessings,
Tess

I too have gained thirty pounds back within the last year and a half. Surgery date 05/04. I feel like such a failure and it is so hard to get back on rack. I too am hypoglycemic. My blood sugar drops at times below 50 has been 40 several times. I feel like I can eat and eat and eat!! Anything!! I did join the gym and want to start eating better than I have been. Do you find that you can eat more than you know you should be eating? If that makes since!! I have an older South Beach Diet Book that I think I will start reading today and hope to find encouragement soon. It was good to ead your post and keep up the good work!!!!

You guys are a God-send. I was sure that I was the only one gaining some weight back.. I had my surgery in May of 2003. I lost 150 lbs. and have gained 15 back. I feel so out of control---I know if I eat more protein, my sweet cravings will subside, its just a matter of doing it. Knowing that I am not alone will really help me. Thanks everybody!!!!
Well, I guess I should have come back to this site earlier. I thought I knew it all and would never have a problem with my weight ever again. Boy was I wrong. In the last 6 months I have put on about 25 to 30 pounds. I am disgusted with myself. I lost 110 and had trouble with digesting good protein. I got naseous everytime I had meat, fish or poultry. So I chose slider foods. Then I discovered that I could eat all the sweets and greasy foods I wanted without dumping. What a mess I have gotten myself into. But I have come back to chat with the great people on this site. I have also made an appointment with my NUT. I have to work through this. I was able to come off many medications, including those for depression. I will not put my health in jeopardy again. i am 56 and not getting any younger! I can't give up now that I know I am not alone! Thanks!

I am coming up on my three year anniversary and have put on 25 pounds in the last 18 months. Like so many others who have replied on this forum, I cannot believe I have allowed myself to start going back to my old ways. I am going to get back on track and get back into those skinny jeans again! I have come too far to go back.
It is good to know I am not the only one who is in this boat. Thanks for being here for support.
