Coffee & Tea?
Have a decaf coffee or decaf tea. Herbal tea caffine is different than regular caffine and I believe is ok for us. It took me over a year before I had a regular coffee and when I did, I felt a little jittery because I hadn't had caffine ina long time. A cup of caffinated coffee once in a while is ok but best to stick to decaf so it counts as water intake. They say for every caffinated drink you drink you need to drink another cup of water or decaffinated beverage to make up for it.
Hope this helps. Janet

I drink Lipton decaf tea every day - sometimes 2-3 cups (and I have LARGE cups) a day. I have been doing this for 1 year now (I'm 2 1/2 years post op) with no problems. Because I'm so used to it, now when I drink regular tea or a cup of coffee...the caffeine makes me jittery and gives me a headache. I am not crazy about the 'foo-foo' flavored cups of teas (ie, the flower caffeine free ones) so rarely drink them - though Good Earth does make a 'sweet and spicy' tea that has a LOT of flavor (almost too much) and is caffeine free.
Sample some different teas and decaff coffees to find some you like...then don't go overboard on them and you'll be fine. It at least makes it easier to get your liquids in, because I hate water. Blech.

I drink caffeine.
yes, at first------ a little would make me so jittery that i couldn't even talk and i felt like taking off running.
then, it got to be that i would get a headache and stayed up really really late.
even with chocolate, soda, etc.
i have noticed though that i can handle more and more caffeine as time passes.
