Head Hunger! Help Please!!
I had my RnY the 26th of January2007,
so, im like 17 months out.I feel so ashamed! Ive lost over 100 pounds. lately, ive been eating carbs, like grahm crackers, some candy, some cookies. Just feel horrible. so have gained 10 pounds. my husband and mom have told me they have noticed i look like ive gained some weight. I just feel so bad like ive lost control and have the fear of stretching out my pouch and ive heard of someone who had gastric bypass surgery and gained weight and looked deformed in their stomach area. I dont want that to happen to me. Have been having trouble with my blood sugar dropping drastically. Anyone else having this problem? I was told from my dr. that some people who have had gastric bypass surgery, their blood sugar does drop at times. and to eat more protein and less carbs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. your not alone iam 1 year out and I too have lost 100 pounds but have put on 10 pounds in the last few months due to snacking on carbs that just slide right down.. even if I know it will give me a stomach ache i still eat it and deal with the 20 minutes of pain.. why I dont know.. my sugar dips low too and I think thats when i really crave the sugar more.. My DR told me to eat more protein, like cheese sticks and other things that have high protein content I thought I was doing a good thing eating cottage cheese but that is considered a slider food, I went on the computer and found a page called the 5 day pouch diet and it took it back to basics like back when the pouch was new starting with just protein drinks , and on from there it also had recipes to try too. I am in the same predicament as you guys. I dont know what to do. I do not get dumping when I eat sugar. I have been stuffing my face with snacks like crackers and I too keep going till my stomach hurts and I know this will happen before I do it but I still do it anyways. I just dont know what to do anymore I have gained about 5 lbs and am a year out. Maybe we should form a group about this issue and keep each other on track. Hey im willing to try anything at this point I dont want to have had this surgery for no reason. I also know someone who had the surgery and after a few years is back to maybe even heavier than their presurgery weight. Well in anycase good luck to you and let me know if you figure out anyways to stop, curb or counteract this behavior.
PLATEAU BUSTER DIET
HOW TO BREAK A PLATEAU
# 1- Do this for 10 days to break a plateau.
# 2- Drink 2 quarts of water a day.
# 3- You must have (at least) 65 grams of protein supplements and all of your vitamins/minerals Supplements each day.
#4- You may consume up to 3 of the following high PROTEIN FOODS, 5X a day.
BEFF
PORK
CHICKEN
TURKEY
LAMB
FISH
EGGS
LOW FAT CHEESE
COTTAGE CHEESE
PLAIN YOGURT OR ARTIFICIALLY SWEETENED
PEANUT BUTTER
BEANS/LEGUMES
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
Sugar free popsicles
Sugar Free Tea or Coffee (Splenda)
Sugar Free Jell-O
Broths/ Bullion ( chicken, beef)
Crystal light drinks
# 5- If it is not on this list you can not have for 10 days !!!!!!
# 6- Keep TRACK of all of your food INTAKE and try and do 30 mins of exercise each day.
DETOX FROM THOSE CARBS!
First thing in the Morning:
16oz of GREEN TEA (hot or cold with lemon)
Breakfast:
(1.) ¼ cup pf eggbeaters with meat & cheese made like an omelet. A side of 1 slice of tomato or Cottage Cheese.
(2.) 16oz of PLAIN WATER
(3.) A snack of STRING CHEESE or 2 pieces of LUNCHMEAT
(4.) 16oz GREEN TEA (hot or cold with lemon)
Lunch:
(1.) A salad of lettuce, kidney beans, cheese, bacon bits with Ranch or Blue Cheese.
(2.) Or 3oz of Chicken Salad with veggies on the side.
(3.) 16oz of Plain Water
(4.) Snack: Yogurt or Cottage Cheese.
Dinner:
(1.) 3oz Lean Meat (chicken) with 2 oz of cooked green veggies (Spinach, Kale, Broccoli or Green Beans)
(2.) 8oz Green Tea (hot or cold with lemon) and 8oz of Water.
(3.) The one good Rule is that you can SUBSTITUTE any meal with a PROTEIN SHAKE.
IT REALLY WORKS THE MAGIC IS IN THE GREEN TEA !!!!!!!!
