Hello out there! I'm looking to all of you out there for support; particularly those of you who have had surgery and experienced some weight gain. How did you handle it? I know I need to get moving and get some regular exercise in but any other suggestions on motivation or how to keep myself from panicking? I feel I'm going to gain it all back now and it's so frightening! I had surgery 1.5 years ago and got down to my lowest weight of 139lbs just a few months ago and now each month it's been creeping up 1.5 lbs here, 1 lb there, lose 1, gain 1.5....now I'm at 146. I usually only weigh myself once a month but today I decided to get on the scale because I feel like I'm getting bigger and I wanted to be sure I haven't gone over the number that I've set as my "watch out" weight which is 145lbs. Well, I'm past that by one pound so I really need to "WATCH OUT" and get back to basics!!! We've all gone through so much to get this tool and make a better healthier lifestyle for ourselves and I do not want to take that for granted and blow it by eating unhealthy foods and not exercising but I find myself eating more unhealthy foods and not exercising. Anyone else going through this? Thanks for any feedback/insight you have...I always respect everyone's opinion!

Hi ! I know just how you feel!! I am three years post op. I am up about 15 pounds from my lowest weight. I have been eating too much junk and grazing alot! I decided I had to do something. I was reading on the wls grads board, and there are plenty of people like us who have gotten away fron our proper post op diet. I read some posts where people have taken a "time out" from food. The idea is to use a liquid diet (protein shakes, water, broth ect) to retrain ourselves to use the pouch rules, and shed some unwanted pounds. Some people have modified the plan and also have dense protein and vegies. I started yesterday and am down 2 pounds already. I did all liquids yesterday and so far today. I may eat a little dense protein tonight, as I am getting hungry, and don't want to let it get out of control, and blow things! I am a regular exerciser and am continuing with that also. good luck, and check out the wls grad board, it might give you the motivation you need to get started! It did me!! DeeAnn R

Help me too!! I had my surgery August 22,2005. I was 330 lbs. and 202 was my lowest weight. My PANIC weight is 210. Today I weigh 212. I walk and do stretches, I'm going back to the post op diet as well and still creeping up a pound here and there. I'M SOOO FREAKING OUT . I hope this is NOT normal after you are far out from your surgery. Jan Camara
