I tried medifast before I had my wls. I drank 5 shakes a day and unloaded 80 lbs. in 8 months. However, the down size was it ruined my gallbladder. When I tried it they didn't have you eat any real food. So my gallbladder didn't have to work. So when I started eating again it was clogged up with stones. Not too much fun when it decides to start compressing on the stones. Not to mention that when I started eating real food again I gained back every pound and about 100 more on top of that. To make a long story short, I had my gallbladder out when I had my wls. No more pain!

Wow - I was almost convinced this might be my solution..... until I finished the rest of your post! Whew!! What an ordeal!!! Don't think I want that kind of pain, as I still have my gall bladder and would like to avoid another hospital visit if possible!! Hope you are well now!!!! Hugs! Kristi

I tried Medifast before my WLS and still take it as it is the only shake I do not dump with. Even before, I would have 5 shakes and eat 1 meal a day, I had no reaction to it and it was real tasty. I guess everyone is different! Good luck!

There is a liquid diet discussion board where there are a lot of Medifast users.  You might check it out.  I just got two boxes today to try out but haven't tasted them yet.

I'm interested to know how people are getting on with the Medifast diet. Did you manage to stick to it? Was it easy or hard to keep going? Did you loose weight and did the weight stay off?
