Hi! I am 8 days post-op. I'm not a coffee fanatic, but I do enjoy my Dunkin a couple of times a week. I am on a liquid protein diet this week. My guide sheet tells me that I am allowed coffee and tea. I've decided to opt for decaf but can I have anything in it? For instance, my favorite is french vanilla w/ 1/2 coconut and 1/2 caramel, extra light with 2 sweet 'n lows. Can I have it? Thanks, linda

If the coconut and caramel are sugared additives, I wouldn't try it. You might dump and believe me... that isn't pretty. If they have a sugar free syrup, that is fine if you tolerate that. Kathy

Whatever you decide to try, try a LITTLE at a time. I LOVE coffee and it was a good four months before my new pouch would tolerate coffee - decaf, regular, etc. - it didn't matter. My pouch did NOT like it!!!! Good luck! Kristi

If you like flavored coffee, add DaVinciGourmet sugar free and fat free syrups to your coffee. They are sweetened by Splenda and are offered by most of the online food/supplement stores. You can look them up at www.davincigourmet.com . I order mine from netrition.com because I know that they have cheap S&H and prompt delivery (even for the cheapest ground delivery price). The Davinci syrups come in almost 50 flavors. Some are better for mixing with proein shakes -- especially the fruit flavored ones, but others work better with coffe -- like amaretto, hazel nut, french vanilla, Irish cream, or caramel. I have heard that Torini has a similar product but not as much variety in flavors.

Hi Linda... I too was a coffee nut preop complete with creamers, flavors, everything. I switched to decaf and now I hit Dunkin about 2x a week. I order decaf with skim milk and sweet n low and I do get cappucinno on occasion made the same way. You just have to be careful that the people making it are using the sweet n low and skim. I had someone use regular coffee and regular milk and although I didn't dump, I did get dehydrated quickly from the caffeine. I have seen a few Starbucks have SF syrups for coffee, but not a large variety. Good luck! Christine

I agree with bob, do davinci or torani. We have both of those at the Albtersons I work at. Also if you don't mind ordering online, try http://everythingcoffee-tea.com/index.php?cPath=14_17

Oh oh and I forgot to mention... I have found a way to enjoy a cold starbucks coffee... I get sf hazlenut, sf vanilla and half and half. It tastes almost like a toffee nut coffee, is only around 50 cals and 3 carbs or so.
