Kristi, I tried it last year when I was concerned. I ate about 7 oz first thing in the morning. However, I think it was actually that I was sick of the taste by 7 oz. If you like cottage cheese, you can do it with that. I have also heard people testing with scrambled eggs. I think the texture of the food is the most important. How much food can your pouch hold at one time. That means it can't be to liquid or it will empty too quickly. Whatever you choose, remember that a mature pouch can hold up to 12 oz and still provide enough "restriction" to lose and maintain weight as long as you follow the rules. I think now I can hold about 8 or 9 oz of food at a time. With some foods I can eat even more. I hope you find that you have a relatively small pouch. Good luck! Angela

I tried it a little while ago with cottage cheese (small curd). I took in 8 ounces and felt comfortably full. I was very happy with the results! Of course, I know that different foods measure differently in our pouch... i'm not sure that I could have taken in the same full 8 ounces of chicken or steak, but might have been able to handle that amount in fish or shrimp. Makes me feel better just knowing my limitations! Have a wonderful day and a great holiday! After work this afternoon, I am off to the lake for the weekend! Hope you have a good one! Hugs! Kristi

Hi everyone! Wow I feel so relieved by reading this!! My surgeon's office has always told me to never eat more than 4 ounces. I had my surgery 11/21/05 and can now eat about 6 to 8 ounces depending on the food and was getting so worried that I was stretching my pouch. But after reading this it sounds like I'm normal! :-) This is the first day i've been on this site. I'd never heard of it before until my dietician told me about it today. Thanks!
