Hi, had lap rny ,5/02, the last 2 yrs can eat a lot never dumped on sugars, can eat carbs which is my downfall. I have lost 105 lbs to date but have not lost any really in 1 1/2 yrs. I know I am eating well but damm I am always hungry I have only gained 8 pounds so I dont want to gain anymore i am now walking 2 miles a day with the dog. I am thinking aof having a proceddue called SCARRING where they inject saline soultion thru a tube to tighten the opening, something like that it is an outpt procdure. Anyone know of this or had it done or feel like me? thanks guys

Donna, Frist of all, congratulations on your weight loss and your exercise committment. You are doing fantastic. I have never heard of the procedure you are talking about, but it sounds interesting. I know that when I eat alot of carbs I am always hungry too. Are you possibly drinking too soon after a meal? I literally have to wait 2 hours after a meal to start drinking or I'll be hungry before it's time to eat again. I am 4 and 1/2 years out and have unfortunately gained back 80 of the 110 lbs. I lost. I am back on track though. It could be what you are eating as well. I notice that even if I eat protein, it has to be hard and dense in texture to last long. For instance, I can eat 6 oz of tuna and be hungry in an hour or maybe 2. Ground beef lasts a little longer. If I eat 6 oz of chicken breast though, whoa I am stuffed for hours and hours. I have to start drinking to get it to wash out of my tummy. If I ate chicken breast for lunch I would probably not want anything until the next day. I don't care for chicken breast though so I of course choose the things that don't last as long. I know, eat to live not live to eat, but that's so hard when you're addicted to food. I have strong cravings and I too do not dump. I am trying really hard to limit sugary foods though. I am no longer eating or drinking things with added sugar, but I still eat alot of carbs and fruit. Plus, I have children so I'll have a sip of their strawberry banana smoothy or a sip of chocolate milk. It's difficult to make the best choices and not let our cravings dictate what we eat, but if you do eat a solid low fat protein you might find yourself full longer. Please keep us informed of your research on the "scarring" and let us know your progress with or without it. We have a good group of people supporting each other here.
