Hunger trouble...just have a question
I am almost 1 year post op, you would think I would know more about my little pouch..but alas, I am just clueless about most things! Here is my problem. Sometimes ok, really more often than not I wake up get ready for work..get out the door and dont eat until I realize I havent eaten. Its only then that I eat (maybe I am just too worried about being late to work) anyways, the way I am reminded is what concerns me. My stomach starts to ache, its like a dull pain...its almost like the gas pains I had early on after my rny. When I eat, it goes away. Is this how it feels for yall? ITs crazy I know that I am just now asking this but I never really thought to ask here and I just saw this board..I ususally hang out in the Texas forum.
Second question, does anyones pouch hate eggs as much as mine does?? BLECH..just the thought of them makes me wanna spew! ;)

Alisa,
Yes, my stomach hurts when I am hungry. I never really feel it in the mornings until about 9:30 or 10am, then I am starving. I feel shaky and weak if I don't eat as soon as my stomach starts that cramping feeling. I never feel it growl though. I can remember dieting prior to surgery and feeling discomfort, then my stomach would growl and it would feel better for awhile. Not anymore. For me there is no growling and no relief unless I eat. I have heard you can drink as much water as you can hold to curb that for another 15 minutes maybe, but you gotta feed your body. As far as the eggs go, it's all different for everyone. I could do eggs and ground beef or sausage from very early on. However, I still sometimes struggle with chicken, turkey, and pork. It depends on the day, the texture and juiciness of the meat, and luck I guess. It's unfortunate that you don't do well with eggs because they are great protein, easy to make, and very inexpensive. Still, if you can't do them I wouldn't worry. There are plenty of other things you can eat. I would definitely try to pack a healthy breakfast for your morning commute or to eat once you get to work. Even if it's deli meat rolled up with cream cheese in the middle or a protein shake. I love the taste of the chocolate Muscle Milk from GNC. They have a ready to drink shake that comes in two sizes. You just refridgerate it, shake it, and pop the little foil top. It tastes like chocolate milk to me. You have to shake it REALLY well though or you'll get disgusting clumps of protein in the bottom. My kids even love that stuff and try to steal it from me. They also make banana cream, which is pretty good and vanilla, which I don't care for. They are rather expensive (over $2 each), but if you look at the long term issue of what it's worth to maintain your new body I think it's worth it. I hope you can find a breakfast item that you like and that's easy for you. Good luck.
