34 Days after Surgery. Only loss 23lbs. Is this normal
Hi Everyone,
1. I know my post is not of an urgent nature. I was hoping someone can tell me on average what I am expect to loose per week?
I feel my weight loss is happening real slow. I am averaging 1-2 lbs per week. Is this normal?
3. If i eat protien (beef ) then two hours ea****ermellon, my body will go through dumping, does that mean the protien has also left my body?
4. Should I eat something else even if im not hungry? I also find that I am hungry more often then before my surgery, is that normal?
Everyone loses at a different rate. The more you need to lose the faster it comes off.
It only means that your dumping on the water mellon. Don't ea****er mellon. I avoid anything that causes me to dump.
It is normal to feell hungry right after surgery but will pass. Everything is healing and your body is going through a big change.
You'll learn your body as you go along

WaterMelon actually has a lot of sugar in it. That sugar is not agreeing with you. I would limit that. Your weight loss is dependent on your size. My first two weeks I lost 30, but I have only lost 10 lbs in the last 8 weeks, so losing is much better than gaining. They say it takes a year to 18 months.
Everyone is going to tell you the same thing: Don't get frustrated when your're not losing what you expect. It is different for everyone....Just be glad you're finally losing weight, hopefully forever!!! And don't get upset when you hit that plateau...It happens, even early on. Your body is adjusting to starving....
Couldn't say if you lose the protein. I would say no, because if you're drinking like you should, your pouch should be empty 2 hours after you eat. The liquids wash down the food - that's why you're not supposed to drink for 30 min after you eat.
I generally don't eat if I'm not hungry, but If I'm not eating, I make sure I get another protein drink or two. These days, though I can't seem to get enough food!! I want to eat all the time. It's the mind game, now. I'm a little braver about trying different things... Gotta watch that, too!
Are you getting in all your water? Water is the key, as well. All said and done, I've only averaged 17.5lbs per month. But hey! I've lost 140!!! Couldn't do that before surgery, so I am happier than ever!! The bottom line is all that matters - not how fast!!!
Good luck, and don't get discouraged! And stay away from those high sugar foods!
Watch the bananas, too! I learned that one VERY quick!
