Ok... I am having a VERY BAD time with hunger. It****ting me like it did before I had surgery and to be honest its really freaking me out. I realized one day...when I was getting a headache that I was starving. I took my headache medicine and it killed the hunger. So I thought. Darn. Can't do that for hunger but wouldn't it be great if there was a pill that you could take and the hunger would just dissapear. Well yeah. theres all those caffeine "Diet" pills and other "herbal" pills that are supposed to do that but I thought ... I definitely dont' want to go that route. SO I wraked my brain and thought... could eat a protein bar... which is a good choice but has too many calories and because I am craving ALOT lately cant have one every time i get hungry. I'd gain. SO I bought the iso-pure drinks. Sure its just the old protein drink but I decided today that everytime I got that massive hunger pain I would drink a few sips and keep on sipping it until it was lunch time. Well so far its working. I honestly didnt think I would make it from breakfast until lunch without snacking. I decided to look at it as "taking my medicine" for the hunger pains. I'll give that thinking a shot. Whatever works right? Well so far so good. I think that I will try to stick with that "medicinal protein" for the hunger and see if that will do it. I still had the hunger but not as bad. Thought I would share Boy this is really hard isnt it??? Hugs! Elizabeth M

I HAVE to have a protein shake in between my meals or I'd never make it. I had lunch at 12:30 and right now it's 3:00 and I'm starving. ::going to get my protein shake now::

Hi Everyone, I find that the Boston's LITE POPCORN really helps me. 3 cups = only 140 calories plus it has only 4.5g of fat. I dont' eat the whole 3 cups becaue of the 20g of carbs. But I can tell you its smells and tast great. Popcorns mechanical value can be compared roughly to that of bran flakes cereal with raisins or whole weat tost. it is a great between meals snack. Popcorn satisfies the appetite without spoiling it. Hope this helps! My delema is that I had my lap band procedure 34 days ago and I am only down 23lbs. Is this normal?

Hi Elizabeth! I know it's hard, and that this is not really a great answer - but, I have found that I too have been this way for quite some time - - so I load up on liquids. It really does work, and I end up peeing like a race horse (great for the kidneys!), and also, I do not just eat 3 meals a day, I eat 5 or 6, and they are all controlled and religiously recorded on fitday.com Funnily enough, it seems that Hot liquids satisfy hunger better. I have REALLY gotten into my Senseo pod coffe machine - the decaf Senseo pods make the BEST richest coffee! And I sweeten the coffee with Sugar-Free French Vanilla Coffee Mate powder. Drinking this nice hot delicious drink in between really seems to fight off the hunger too. As far as Popcorn and carbs, EVERYONE is affected differently - no two people are alike. But, for ME, i will tell you that if I ate popcorn I would begint o balloon up like a whale - carbs just KILL my weight loss! Anyway, I wish you were closer so that you could come to one of my support groups - we address this very topic. I can at least offer to help by phone - if you ever want, just call our group at the number below! Please have a great day, Michael A. Campellone 240 Pounds Gone Forever! Hello, Everyone! OK - so here is the update... Many of you have expressed interest in having our own Virtual Support Group in a private chat room, so that we can discuss our food issues in a "live, real-time" environment and in private. This is a special group just for post-ops who are now having various troubles with Hunger and Food Issues. I will set up a special chat website which I will tell everyone how to join - you just need to be approved as you join through me (so I can make sure that you are from this group)... BUT - I would like to know - what would be good times for these meetings? Any ideas? Please e-mail me privately to be set-up for our private Food Issues Support Group, just click the "email me" button at the bottom of this message! I will respond to you right away. Love you guys!
