Getting back in the saddle after weight loss. . . any tips?

Stef, great to hear things are going good for you, the riding lessons are great for you, but dont forget to brush up your mares scholing too ! trainers are there to help folks out ! , we have taken the time to learn about horses so we can help otherpeople, a few lessons with a good trainer , you can trust and get along well with, who gives solid advice and enoouragement, as well as take home lessosn for you and your mare would be best ! 30-60 days with a certified trainer will go a long way toward getting you BOTH at your top condition! you had mentioned a round pen , since you dont have one, i assume your mare has never been worked in one, get one with removable panels, start at 24 foot, then go larger, a 30 foot round pen is ideal , 35 is a good size for sporthorses and lighter drafts good luck !
