Okay well, first of all, just want to let all of ya'll know I'm new here. Here are some quick stats about me. I'm a 25 yrs old tejana, married, no kids (dont have as an excuse for weight gain :( . . . . ) want to be a nurse and have kids. I'm infertile cause I'm what you call morbid obese. I'm considering the surgery and I'm very nervous. If you have any advice to give I'd sure love to hear it. Pre-op/Post op. Whatever. Gracias. Hope to hear from you guys soon . . . .

Hola Karina. First off, let me welcome you to our site, it is not very active but you will always get a response from one of us. The more of us latinas join, the better it gets. I would also like to congratulate you on your decision, I know that it is not an easy one. You will encounter some obstacles on your journey but stay strong and you will soon be on your way to a happy, healthy, and beautiful future. I had my surgery the last day of March '06, it truly has been the best decision of my life. I started at 250lbs, 5' tall, I am now 206 and starting to look and feel fabulous. I still have about 60lbs. to go for my goal and I know that I will be there one of these days. I excercise regularly and keep to my new ways of life (eating). Yes, I do get cravings and I do one of two things, 1. I ignore it and go about my business, telling myself that I never want to look back 2. I take a small taste ( I can swallow or most times I spit it out). My doctor told me that the heavier you are the faster you lose the weight, so good luck to you...you will surely lose it quite fast. Please do yourself a favor and start excercising, you don't want to have loose and hanging skin. Walk a lot and do weights on your arms, thights, back, and abdomen. I have been excercising and hopefully I won't need any cosmetic surgery, my body is coming together very nice, it looks toned (zero loose skin). Get as much info as possible, this site is wonderful and don't listen to the negativity. People do get jelouse and always want to keep you down........... Karina good luck and please keep us posted...we are here for advice, comfort, or just plain venting Warm regards, carolbear p.s. I am also working towards the R.N. license
