Hello Everyone!!!
As I sit here doing my dailyplate calculations I'm wondering:  How far out are you all & how many calories are you taking in daily?  Do you count your carbs or just protein?

I'm 18 months out and try to stick to 1200 calories.  I concentrate on protein but the carb # I try to watch and keep below my protein intake.
Have a great week!!!!

The only thing I actually count is my protein.  I want to make sure I'm getting enough in.  I've been maintaining my weight pretty well for the last month or two, so I feel my calories must be OK.  I do watch the amount of carbs I eat, as I am hypoglycemic and can not eat many carbs-the more I eat, the lower I go.  I probably should monitor my calories just so that I know where I am and then should I ever find myself gaining I'll know why, but I'm totally lazy when it comes to counting calories.  I just don't want to do it, so I don't.  Bad?  I'm sure it is.  This is something I need to work on.

I'm 11 months out and I keep track of my calories, protein and carbs.  I stay around 1000 calories per day, some days more, some less.  My problem is carbs, I need to get a grip on that situation.    Jules

I don't count calories, as my doc said only protein.  So, I track my protein, getting in at least 80g a day.  I try to keep my fats low and my carbs too.  Natural carbs I don't worry about too much, like lactose, and fructose from milk and fruit.

I'm about 13 months out.  I count calories, fat and protein.  I eat about 1400 calories a day, about 90 grams of protein and 25% or less of fat, with less than 10% coming from saturated fats.  I also exercise 5 days per week.

RNY on 08/25/06 with
two years, two months out, and I keep track of protein first, then carbs.  I really need to get back on fitday.com and track better, but throughout this whole thing, my surgeon kept telling me not to obsess over calories - just get the protein in and keep the carbs low.
