My question for you today is this.
When you're stuck without healthy choices, what do you choose?
DH and I were stuck at the Oklahoma City Airport this weekend, waiting to fly out thanks to Ike. All they had were fast food places. I ended up getting a grilled chicken sandwich and just ate the chicken. I guess it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't enjoyable either LOL.

First, can I just say that today is my 1 year surgiversary? I'm so grateful to be in this place!
Anyway, to answer the question, I guess I just try to make the healthiest choice I can given the menu. I also record what I ate so that those calories don't get "forgotten."

I am so incredibly happy these days. The surgery was more than I had hoped. Check out my blog entry on my profile. I posted my thoughts on the last year there yesterday.
I was at a support group meeting last night and met someone who is several years out. Actually, there were 3 people out of the 9 there who developed really bad cases of hypoglycemia. They developed these problems after being out a couple of years, so that's a little scary to me, but as we all agreed last night, we made a deal with the devil when we decided to have this surgery. We knew (or should have known) the risks and made the decision that the benefits of the surgery outweighed them.

I usually have a packet of peanuts in my tote bag, so if it's really bad, I'll eat those... otherwise, like everyone else, I make do with what's available.
