Something a little lighter.... What the silliest thing anyone has said to you since your WLS? I was attending my surgeon's suppost group. I sat down next to a really nervous new person who had just had surgery earlier in the week. What she was doing out at a support meeting was beyond me but...I introduced myself and before I could tell her what surgery I'd had and that I had lost 263 pounds, she said: "When are you having your surgery?" !!!!!!!!! WHAT??????? Now I am no stick by any means but I can no longer qualify for WLS... I attribute it to her pain medication. Karen

Yeah that's a real smart cookie you dealt with. LOL I can't think of anything!! I'm sure someone has said something stupid, but nothing's coming to mind! Argh! LOL

It just so happens that I met an idiot the other night at Lane Bryant. Now we all know that hair loss is a normal temporary side effect of the surgery. Well, my hair was thin to begin with, and when you love something from which you don't have much to begin with, well, it's not always pretty. So the lady knew I had the surgery, and asked me if I wasn't getting enough protein in because it looked like I was losing my hair. OMG, if all it took was some extra protein, I'd have a head and a half of hair by now! I get in at least 80 grams a day of protein. Not only did I think her comment was silly, but I *really* appreciated being reminded of my semi-baldness.

Can't really think of anything right now. .

I'm sure I've had some unusual comments, but for the life of me I can't think of one right now...sorry.

Well couple days ago a friend of mines daughter who hasnt seen be since january of this year.. she is 8.... and has known me her whole 8 years..... i walk up to her and she looks at me and says hi ..and doesnt even notice its me.... and then she stops and says "omg miss bridget, i didnt even reconginize you ... your sooo skinnnny!!! " lol skinny no? lil smaller yah ..... but eh thats on a good note i suppose... i just dont see me skinny by any means!

Don't let it get to you, Karen - some people are just clueless! The only thing I can think of is when I was at a birthday party for my boyfriend's niece, and his grandma told him that I should eat more - that I ate like a bird. She doesn't know about my WLS and never knew me MO... He told me after we left the party, and we laughed for a long time! If only she knew how hard I've worked to get where I am!

You know you won't be able to eat sugar and stuff. NO Really? Thanks for telling me. SOmething my surgeon never did--MORON!

The one that really gets to me is when I speak with a friend that I haven't talked with for weeks the first question I am asked is.... Are you still skinny? Ughhhh It drives me batty! The lady that asked you that just probably thought that people who are far out and has lost are really not around anymore. Or it could have been the pain meds! LOL Cira
