I used it for a bout a week before surgery and used it for a few days after, while my mom was here, but never used it after she left. It is tucked away in the back of my closet.

What is a CPAP? I didn't have one.

I was given a CPAP (it's for sleep apnea) during the approval process - my PCP said that it would be one more reason for insurance to want to approve my WLS. I hardly ever used it - hated it! About a month after surgery, I ditched it!

Did not have one but probably should have. I never had a sleep study, but would hold my breath and/or forget to breathe for long periods of time while I was sleeping. I don't do this any more thank God! I am still a light sleeper but I don't wake up not breathing any longer! Sheryl

The morning I went in for surgery. HEHEHE. I tried it when I got home and it felt like it was blowing up my new pouch so I quit using it and haven't snored since. I still tend to fall asleep though.

I never had one and I am glad I didn't. My husband recently got one and I feel like I am sleeping with an alien at night......hahahaha Oh well, he is feeling better and that is good. I asked his doctor if my husband lost weight, would he go off of this and the doctor said probably not because of the excess fat in his neck area. ????? My son (age 36) also is on one too. Sad.

I have never had a c-pap machine, but my daughter who had the surgery does and has lost 160lbs but still uses it. She goes back for a re-check with the surgeon in 2 weeks and is going to ask when she needs to be re-tested. Sally

I had sleep apnea before surgery and I stopped using it about a month after surgery.
