Daily Post--7/16/08

I've been so busy between work and doing things for others that I haven't taken any time for me. I will try to make time for me this week....

My children are grown and out on their own, so it's just my DH and me now. I'm lucky in that regard. I get to do things I want now, like gardening. I spent the entire day on Sunday outside working around the house. It was work, but it was outside, and the weather was beautiful. It really lifted my spirits. I also get to exercise every day without having to do much to "fit it in," again because it's just DH & me. When the kids were still home, and for awhile my MIL lived with us also, I never had any "me" time.

I hired someone to help me clean. It was getting ahead me and she was cheap.- $50 for 3 hours.

My daughter and I went to the theater and saw Wicked. It was wonderful. Not something that I would normally do for myself. I also took the time to paint my toenails which I normally do not do. Nothing big or exciting but for me it is something. Sally

Hmmm not much! Threw a retirement party for my parents on Sunday, so I spent Saturday cleaning house and getting ready. It was nice to see everyone, though, so I guess that's something.. Oh, and last Thursday, my boyfriend and I took my nephew to the Concert in the Park - it was a Journey tribute band, so I enjoyed it!

I bought my self the Nike+ thing for my iPod so it tracks how far I have run etc.

Hmm... done for myself... that's a hard one. I bought my first house in October so my fiance' and I have been working on it and I've been working a lot of overtime, so I haven't really had any time to do anything for me. I'll have to work on that! Thanks for reminding me! Sheryl

I have not done it this week, due to some leg surgery, but I treat myself to a pedicure at least once a month! I know that is not much, but it is my time to just relax and be pampered.

I made DH take me to an amusement park on our last day of vacation - which was also my six month surgiversary! It was selfish in a way because what was more fun than going on the rides was seeing how well I fit on them now!

I went to the tanning bed a couple of times. When I do that it makes me feel so good.
