I drank only decaf up until very recently (surgery was nearly two years ago) - and then McDonald's came out with their iced coffee. They don't do it in decaf, so when I drink it, I am getting the caffeine. I was also drinking four or five glasses of iced coffee at work each day, made with decaf and SF french vanilla creamer, but I think that may be part of the problem I'm having slowly gaining weight - so as of today, I dropped the iced coffee. Yes, I will have one or two on the weekends, but I'm not going to do five a day anymore!!! This is really the only thing that I can imagine has caused this slow gain - I haven't really changed my diet or exercise routine other than this new addiction.
I still drink it. I didn't know we were supposed to stay away from it for the first 3 years after WLS. I stayed away from soda for a while but now I drink some of a flat diet cooke once in a while. There are a lot more "rules" now than there were when I had my WLS in 2002. I'm learning new stuff daily on here.
