I'm below goal and am working on maintaining. I keep myself motivated by playing with my kids...they are the reason I sought WLS ~ my son told me it wasn't "fair" that I was too tired to play with him. Yup it wasn't fair so I did something about it. I am so thrilled at the results and so is he!!!

Positive comments give me a boost. My husband is supportive. He will walk with me and offer suggestions to me, which I like. Jules

I had actually reached my "goal" - a number I picked out of the air when I was MO. At 149, I felt too thin, even though my BMI said I was still overweight. I have since gained some weight, and I've found I'm most comfortable between 153 and 157. I have gained a few more than that, and am working to get back to my comfort zone. My motivation comes from having to wear clothes that are getting snug. I gave away everything over a size six, and most of my clothes are size four. I REFUSE to buy bigger clothes, so whenever I start feeling that my pants are too tight, I get on the ball and work harder to keep it off.

Part of what helps me stay motivated is the compliments that I receive from family and friends on how well I have done so far. The other part the keeps me motivated is that I just hate to fail. So I will do what ever is possible in a healthy way to achieve my success.

My surgeon has not given me a goal, but I picked 149, and to stay motivated, I look at where I started, and how far ive come, and the fact that I dont ever want to go there again. Plus a little bit of "I'll show them" for all the people that dont think I can do it. Vivienne

Well I have not been doing so well with that so I finally made an appt to go and see a therapist. I have to figure out why I would go through all this and then not have the strength (mentally) to continue to do the right things. I hope she can help me. Sally

hmmmm, I am still trying to figure this out. I like to think I need to make a move before the next monday's weigh in. but at the same time I think of shopping, fun family trips, my upcoming 10 year class reunion. My limited time frame before my body adjusts to the new foods
