I was lucky that I didn't have any health issues prior to surgery ~ it was done as a preventative. I do however feel much better = no back pain, no ankle aches and my feet feel good!

the only health problems I had preop were fatige, and aches and pains in joints. I was border line for diabeties and high blood presure and border line for high cholesteal too. This couldn't have happened at a better time for me. but I have been on and off prozac for years, and I have not been able to handle the taste of the porder or the liquid so I have stopped taking that since surgery on 5-6-08 and so far I feel great.

I was lucky, I had no medications, no health problems. But my mom had a stroke a heart attack, and was diagnosed with diabetes, and I told my surgeon I didnt want to end up like her in 10 years. I now work 12 hour shifts and I couldnt have done that before surgery, im on my feet all day, usually walk about 12000 a day. No aches and pains. Vivienne

I haven't taken a blood pressure pill since the day I had my surgery, and I don't have any health problems aside from my bones/joints.... I had hoped to have a huge improvement in my arthritis and fibromyalgia after losing weight, but, sadly, without the medication that used to sustain me (NSAIDS, Glucosamine, Omega 3's), I have more pain today even though I am over 140 lbs lighter.

I no longer have type 2 diabetes or acid reflux. I have gone from 4 pills a day to 1 pill every 3-4 days. I couldn't be happier about how my health has improved. Sally

I was pretty healthy, for being morbidly obese! I had been diagnosed with sleep apnea, but never really used the cpap machine I was given. I still take my thyroid meds, and will forever, but that's ok! I'm healthy, happy, and relatively pain-free!
