Daily Posts Resuming--6/2/08
I was asked to start posting responses to these posts again after getting a bit lazy about doing so! Here goes!
One really good one was from my hubby JUST this morning! I was in the kitchen at the stove cooking our breakfast. I had on old shorts, a top that is like 18 sizes too big for me (from preop) and had not even brushed my hair. He came in and told me that I looked nice and he loved me! I told him thanks, but that there were probably some folks out there who'd say he wasn't too choosy if he thought I looked nice in that current state of being! LOL

My DH is a man of few words, but every once in awhile, he comes out with something nice. The other day, I mentioned how my weight loss seems to have stalled. He told me that, at this point, I shouldn't worry if I don't lose any more weight. That's his way of saying that I look great the way I am now. He also told one of his buddies, who hasn't seen my since prior to the surgery that he won't recognize me when he sees me.
Actually this just happened yesterday...My daughter and I were walking the dogs around the neighborhood when I saw a woman I did some work with recently to keep a truck driving school out of our neighboorhood..I nodded at her and said "hey" and she ignored me...kept on walking and I hear "Lor is that you?" I said yes...she said I looked familiar but she couldn't place me and my God - you have lost a whole person...you look wonderful!"...made my day!
I was shopping at the grocery store and saw a gal that I haven't seen in about a year. She came over and said that she had seen me a few moments earlier, but decided that I wasn't really me. Then she saw me again and this time I saw her and smiled at her. She came over and said that her first thought was that I was to thin and young to be me. I laughed and gave her a hug. She sure made my day. Jules
Yay, I'm glad to see you are posting too...
The most special compliment I got is from a man I like - it's kind of a backwards compliment (yes, I'm a bit twisted!). We were at a work luncheon and he kept telling me to finish the food on my plate. I kept telling him I was full. He bugged me for most of our 1/2 hour lunch, everyone was watching and listening to us "bicker". He's really shy and does not do things like this in front of people. He told me he was concerned for my health and that I'm too darn skinny! I could have hugged him right there. I know, it doesn't sound like much of a compliment - his telling me to eat more food. But he's so guarded and never gives a compliment to anyone, so this was his way of telling me he cares. How sweet!
It happened just today! I was at work in the dental office when a male patient came in and was talking to me about dental stuff when all of a sudden he stopped to compliment my hairdo and said "Boy, you look nice!" And then went on to talk dental some more. Then all of a sudden he stopped and said "You lost weight too, didn't you?! You look so good! "
It was like he was amazed and just had to keep complimenting me. It was so sweet....and cute. It made my day.
