Daily Post--5/27/08
How much sugar I can eat in one sitting or meal seems to vary greatly... I can eat a couple small pieces of sugar dense fudge and not be affected. I can't eat regular barbecue sauce though! A teaspoon of regular barbecue sauce (less than half a serving and less than 5 grams of sugar) makes me dump like MAD!! On the other hand, I have had a whole gooey, rich brownie and not dumped! How ODD is that??
Like most everyone else so far, it varies greatly from one day to the next. I have dumped on a bite or two of ice cream, but there are other times that I can eat a whole "mini" frozen yogurt and not been affected at all. I can eat cookies one day, and dump on teriyaki sauce the next. It's weird, but it's probably a good thing - this way, I never push my luck too far!
I was told by the nut to stay under 10g per meal, and I try. That being said, I have eaten a small piece of birthday cake and just gotten sleepy, but grapes make me nauseous. 2 weeks ago just before going to work, I used honey mustard dipping sauce, while at work I became dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, and almost fainted. People said I looked green. So I try to be really careful now.
