How much sugar can you eat in one sitting?

I try to keep it below 7, but I've noticed I do better with sugar than with sugar alcohols. Sugar alcohols make me dump big time - fast and hard! So, I try to keep the sugar alcohols below 5, and a combo of the two below 7 also.

How much sugar I can eat in one sitting or meal seems to vary greatly... I can eat a couple small pieces of sugar dense fudge and not be affected. I can't eat regular barbecue sauce though! A teaspoon of regular barbecue sauce (less than half a serving and less than 5 grams of sugar) makes me dump like MAD!! On the other hand, I have had a whole gooey, rich brownie and not dumped! How ODD is that??

Really depends on what it is I am eating...I can eat no sugar added slim-a-bear ice cream which has a pretty high sugar content and not be bothered...yet something like the sugar in tomato sauce can make me all woozy...so it i**** or miss kinda thing unfortunately.

I try not to have more than the regulated 5g. If I do...I certainly know it. I get the sweats and rapid heart rate.

I have to stay below 9 sugars and a combination of sugar/sugar alcohol needs to be below 12. Have been less careful lately and paid for it BIGTIME!!!

I never really looked at how much sugar I am eating at the time. But lately, I have noticed some things make me feel kinda icky inside. I will have to check out the sugar amounts and see how much makes me feel that way. Thanks for the thought.

Like most everyone else so far, it varies greatly from one day to the next. I have dumped on a bite or two of ice cream, but there are other times that I can eat a whole "mini" frozen yogurt and not been affected at all. I can eat cookies one day, and dump on teriyaki sauce the next. It's weird, but it's probably a good thing - this way, I never push my luck too far!

I was told by the nut to stay under 10g per meal, and I try. That being said, I have eaten a small piece of birthday cake and just gotten sleepy, but grapes make me nauseous. 2 weeks ago just before going to work, I used honey mustard dipping sauce, while at work I became dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, and almost fainted. People said I looked green. So I try to be really careful now. Vivienne
