I can't drink anything cold. Hot or warm does me best. Also, I can't stand water, which is weird because I was a big water drinker post op. I drink herbal teas, at least 64 oz a day. I like chamomile, but lately I've been doing fruit flavored teas. Celestial Seasonings sells a sampler box that tastes great.
My water intake is mostly crystal light, well the walmart version anyways. I also do decaf coffee & tea depending on the day and my mood could be hot or could be iced. Right now Dunkin Donuts is giving out a lot of iced coupons and I usually hit them daily on my way home.
I've also been adding protein shots to jello and having a 1/2 cup for a morning or afternoon snack so those count too.
I drink plain water, has to be ice cold or I can't drink it. I also will mix in some Wal-Mart Crystal Light stuff to a couple bottles of water daily, again, ice cold. I get in one protein drink daily and a glass of Lactaid daily - all ice cold. I can't drink anything if it's warm or room temp...well, I can, but it'll upset my tummy or make me gag sometimes.
Pre-op I LOVED water..drank a ton of it a day..now..I hate it..makes me feel gross.
I tend to drink 1/2-caff coffee in the a.m. or 1/2-caff iced tea (brewed by me)...during the day I continue to drink my 1/2-caff iced tea or lite minute maid lemonade...I have also lost my taste for anything crystal light or the like...but because I have to "drink" I will sip on one of those as well..I struggle with my fluid intake every day.
I have a protein shake each morning. I have a hot sf cocoa mid morning, which I make with two cups of ho****er, because it's too sweet otherwise. The other four cups of fluid is usually water with Crystal Light diluted down. I use about a 1/4 of the powder to make up the drink, otherwise it's too sweet. Sometimes I'll make a hot cidar, one packet to two cups ho****er. Since my surgery, sweet stuff is so much more stronger than before. Jules
