Did you used to drive around, and around, and around the parking lot waiting for a spot close to the door to park? What about now? Do you just park in the first open spot, or do you still look for a spot closer to the door?
I know that I used to do just that due to the pain in my knees and back... Now, I sometimes park in the row furthest from the store unless the weather is wet. It really irks my daughter! She asks me why I park so far out. My response--"Because I can!"
I try to park closer for safety's sake. That's a really good way to add some steps to your day, to park far away and walk a little more. But, if you're the only one out there, you're a prime target for someone to "bother" you. So, it has nothing to do with weight loss, but yes, I try to park at least with other people, not out by myself.
Oh sure, I used to do that. I remember a few times just abandoning my shopping plans because there was no "acceptable" parking space!
Now, I just park it - I don't care how far it is from the door. The only thing I look for now is a safe place for my car - I don't park near cart racks or big cars that are parked crooked - I love my car and don't want it dinged!!
I depended on how I was feeling. If my knees or feet were hurting, I would wait for a close spot, or just not go. Now I really do not care, I take spots because they are bigger or father away so my car is a little more protected. funny then I needed to protect my body, now I protect my car's body...LOL Gayle
