When I had WLS two years ago, grocery shopping changed dramatically. My adult daughter lives with me, and she changed her way of life along with me. She has lost (and maintained) about 60 pounds. I'm so proud of her!
For about four months now, I've been seeing a wonderful man, and I've started buying "treats" for him - one of the hardest things is the bread... It hasn't been "allowed" in the house for so long, but now it's a staple again. I avoid it, for the most part, but it's there. He's great about eating whatever I give him, though - he "snacks" on SF popsicles and peanut butter and bananas... LOL But, I try to make him feel as if things are normal around here...
I am single but I have a teenage daughter who was pretty receptive to our lifestyle changes..I think even more so than I am right now. LOL My friends all know that I had surgery so they are very understanding and are even making healthier lifestyle changes so when we go out to eat or if I dine at thier homes, they are very accomodating to what my dietary needs are. I have indeed be blessed!
Absolutely nothing about our relationship has been impacted by my WLS...well nothing negative anyway. He's super supportive and never complains about what I cook...he's actually said he appreciates the more healthy choices in the house. I still buy treats because I'm trying to be "normal" and learning how to live with temptation. I'm blessed, I truly am.
