Do you have problems knowing "how" to dress? I just don't know what "look" would be good for me. I always used to wear whatever fit -- sometimes I'd have a choice about color -- but never much choice about "style." Now I'm at a loss when I can wear so many different styles. I'm overwhelmed and intimidated. Someone suggested I star****ching "What not to wear" for tips -- and that does help. I feel like I need those guys to go shopping with me! I wonder if there are consultants out there you can hire! Anyone know of good resources to get tips for dressing for your body-type, skin tone, age, etc...?
I really don't think about it. I shop during sales and if something looks good on me when I see in the mirror, I buy it. However, I usually stay out of the "young junior " department because their styles are just too young for someone my age. But misses department is fine. Anything they have is in style and looks good so have fun shopping!
I keep leaning towards the "hide the fat roll" clothes. My daughter keeps making me return things -she's told me that I don't have to dress like that anymore. So, now I try to take her with me. She's 19.
Last night I went to Kohl's to get pants, I fit into a size 8!!!!! I bought size 10's, because the 8's were tight, but am also going to go back and get 8's because I will be in them comfortably soon.
I got a pair of those burmuda-type shorts, but in the work style material on clearance for $3.60. I put them on for my kids and got lots of whistles and hooting over my legs!
lol I don't dress my age but probably should soon. It's generally jeans and a shirt for me so no real style. I'll be out in the "real" world again soon though so guess I"m going to have to figure it out!
Right now though, I"m still in most of my tops (WHY don't we shrink evenly!?!?)
Thinking about grabbing a few magazines but I"m not Betty Homemaker - or some sex in the city type... I'm not out in my pristine capri's in the garden either... not sure I know a mag for just down to earth real folks. lol

I don't know what my style is either. I used to buy what fit, whether I liked it or not. Now, everything seems to fit. So I try to buy what fits my budget. I go to consignment stores or get stuff on sale. Before, I never found anything that I liked or that fit at JC Penney. Post-op, it's become my favorite store. I try to bring at least one of my two daughters shopping with me. My youngest one has a particularly good eye for style, and both of them are honest with me about what I'm wearing. I did venture out on my own the other night and came home with a pair of white slacks - can you believe it - WHITE slacks?!?!?!? Anyway, my youngest daughter gave me an "A" on my choice. I don't know about style consultants for hire because I have two in the family!
