I've learned to tell the difference between real hunger and head hunger. When I feel hungry and I know it's not been long enough since I ate that I should be hungry, I drink water then wait 30 minutes and see if I am still hungry, if I am then I have a good snack....something with protein in it and something low calorie. I am WAY more conscious about the types of food I eat now and I definitely pay more attention to calories than I did before! I will eat a cup of mandarin oranges that are only 80 calories instead of a high calorie junk food "treat" like chips, cookies, etc.
I honestly don't feel that I ever get hungry......I mean really hungry. I have head hunger a lot, though, so I battle with that. I eat because it is "lunchtime" or "dinner" and I eat for something to do or something looks"yummy" (turns out it doesn't ever taste as good as it looks). Lots of reasons but actual stomach hunger? No, I feel like I could go without ever eating again. But can't do that so I eat because I have to and try to avoid the temptations of head hunger (which is only for junk food). Does this make sense???

I dont really get hungry, but I have noticed that when it has been too long since the last time I ate, I start eating, said WOW this is good "im hungry" and eat to fast and then it comes back up. Sometimes when im bored, I want to eat, but I just ignore that as much as possible, I am also very afraid to eat and drink so I start drinking, cause then I cant eat . I drink from a 24 oz bottle, and once I start I have to fini**** before I can start counting my 30 min till time to eat (my rule)

Whenever I have the urge to eat, I stop and ask myself whether I am truly hungry or if it is just head hunger. More often than not, it is simply head hunger. While I try to re-direct myself to do something better for me than eating, I don't always succeed. It is a daily effort, though, and I will continue to fight the fight. The way I see it, at least I'm stopping and thinking about it before I just blindly eat like I used to.
I can feel hunger but I do deal with the head hunger thing and it really sucks. I wi**** was always like it had been in the first few months when I never wanted to eat. I would love to have that feeling back forever. I hate how easily the old habits sneak back in.
I try to drink water when I feel those hunger pains, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
