Do you still get hungry? Can you differentiate between true, physical hunger and just head hunger? How do you cope with hunger pangs?

I don't ever seem to be as hungry as I used to be, but I do get hunger pangs once in awhile, but not every day. If it's not a meal or snacktime, I usually will ask myself if I'm really hungry or if I'm thirsty or just feel like eating something. I can usually get over the feeling by talking myself out of eating at that moment or drinking more water. The other night, though, the Triscuits were hollering at me the whole time I was watching the Red Sox. I finally just went to bed so that I wouldn't eat any.

Sometimes, usually busy weekends, I will forget to eat and my body reacts... true hunger results in weakness, sometimes dizziness, and then I know I better get some protein in fast. When it's head hunger, it's just an urge to put something in my mouth. I usually comply, but I try to make good snack choices. I am aware when I'm eating just to satisfy the head hunger.

I don't think it's actually "hunger" but I do feel the need to eat. I try to reach for an apple, a few nuts, or a cube of cheese -- instead of JUNK. I also get crystal lite or sugar free popscicles if I know it's in no way hunger.

I am always hungry.... just like I was before. I fight grazing and mindless snacking daily... I try to do other things to distract me from the hunger, but I can be sitting at the park talking to friends and my stomach is growling and I am feeling light headed and HUNGRY... I can't seem to find anything to distract me from the hunger except for food- so I try and make better food choices. I am trying to chose snacks like fruits/veggies/cheese cubes/slice of turkey... but sometimes I eat 5 sun chips or baked lays... I know this is a bad, bad habit.

Yes, I do get truly hungry and truly thirsty. I have a large purse with a stash of things I can eat in it.

Some days I can't stop eating and some days I don't feel hungry at all. I still need to eat according to the time not my hunger because mostly it isn't there. I drink a lot and I think that contributes to not feeling hungry. When I am hungry I try to eat protein rich foods that will fill my pouch and stay with me for a longer period of time.

I still find myself "boredum" eating. Lately I have been craving junk. I don't know what the deal is. I have been so good and the other day I ate two snack bags of Doritos, a small bag of M&Ms, and 4 cups of popcorn. Today I ate 1/2 C Rotini noodles with 1/2 C spaghetti sauce and 1 pc garlic toast, and two bananas. I feel like I am bloated :o( I had a hysterectomy so it can't be THAT. The other morning I was at 185 and last night I weighed 191. I really need to work on identifying the stomach hunger and get away from the head hunger. Katy

I have felt hunger only a few times. I've tried water and if that doesn't work I try to find something healthy to eat. When I want snacky foods I've found bean dip and WW chips are ok. Feels like I"m having something "forbidden" but it's actually got quite a bit of protein The head hunger (mouth munchies) are harder... tried gum again and darn near swallowed it so gave it to the kids. so back to the drawing board on that one. Real hunger cramps pouchy... head hunger just makes me mad lol
