Daily Post--4/21/08
I dated a few times about a year out of surgery, and didn't mention it to any of them... dated one guy for about three months, and he never seemed to notice anything odd. I started seeing my current boyfriend about four months ago, and he noticed right away that I "picked" at my meals, and that I didn't drink anything bu****er and coffee... he didn't ask, but on our third date, I told him about the WLS. He had a friend that had done WLS, so we talked about it, and I made the comment "so you know that my body is ugly"... He corrected me and said that beauty comes from within. That's the night I started to fall for him...
He is so supportive - and tells me all the time how "beautiful" I am. He knows that my self-esteem, although 100 times better now than pre-WLS, is still fragile. Being a man, sometimes things don't come out right, but I know he loves me. He accepts my self-conciousness, but encourages me at the same time. We spend a lot of time in candlelight!
