My feet were going numb and I had started having a flappy gait. I went to the Dr. they referred me to a neurologist. I was pinching my perineal nerve by crossing my legs. The neurologist referred to it as "skinny leg syndrome" I laughed when he told me that ~ me have a skinny anything syndrome
I have everyone around me remind me not to cross my legs and it has healed itself.
Sadly, after losing over 130lbs, my joint pain is WORSE! and so is my back pain! I don't do NSAIDS or any pain medication any longer, so I guess that's the difference.... and I am moving so much more, it's amazing... I thought the pain would decrease with weight loss, but not yet... I do have 40 more lbs to go though...
Oh man, my bones hurt! My ass, hips, shoulders, pelvis, ribs.. ugh!
And currently my gait has changed! LOL I have peroneal nerve palsy that came from CROSSING MY LEGS too much! Finally able to do something, and it's bad! LOL
So, my left foot and ankle is completely numb and I can't bend it up. Can we say... GIMP?
I have noticed that I sway my hips a little when I walk now...never did that before, but then again, never wanted to be noticed before too.
Some days when I wake up, my shoulders and neck just ache, I don't have much padding and I just ache some days...plus I have bony butt syndrome (my butt hurts all the time from sitting!).
But still, better than the alternative!
My hip felt like it was on FIRE!! Went to my PCP and he sent me to Orthopedics. Everyone shot me full of cortisone and told me about some nerve and sheath on the point of my hip that are rubbing and causing my left leg/foot to go numb.
PCP mentioned that my pelvis is trying to settle back to it's proper position after all those years carrying the extra weight and that too may have some bearing on the hip problem.
Hubby also says I have my sashay back lol so guess my gait has changed some too.
