Do you ever revert back to your old ways? How do you get it under control?

I found myself wanting so badly to snack at night out of boredom like I used to. I have replaced the bad snacks with healthy/low fat/low carb & of course sugar free snacks.

So far so good, I have found myself snacking a little, but the snacks have changed. It is no longer that pint of ice cream, or the large bag of chips, it is veggies or fruit. So really it is kind of an old habit, reformed to be a better habit.

I tend to look for food when I feel happy or stressed or whatever.... I have to remind myself to do something else (I am not always successful), but I do make better food choices.

When I am stressed I tend to want to eat, but I try to be wise about it...if I can't get my mind off of food and feel that I HAVE to eat something, I make it SF, FF, as healthy an item as I can. And I don't beat myself up, it took me years to get the eating habits I had and I had them for over 20 years, so I can't expect to drop them in 5 months, but I am happy that I am at least choosing healthier food items and I only eat a tiny amount!

During times of super high stress I'm reaching for whatever I think will stay put. Oft times that means malt o meal or a quarter package of ramen with cheese... Once I get a bit, I'm fine though. I can tell I've eaten the carbs. but can so far bounce out of it. I look forward to seeing other responses Lori

So far I'm doing okay. Around the holidays, I started to slip and didn't really see it until my NUT pointed it out. I had already put myself in denial about my eating habits, and at the time, I was only 3-4 months out! Luckily, I was able to snap myself out of it, and I haven't gone back there since. I hope I never do!

Yes, I find myself doing that, but I'm making healthier choices now. Jules
