When you are under a LOT of stress, what do you do to keep from eating?

Well, that's a real battle for me. I just do a lot of self-talk. For instance, I'll tell myself that if those chips (or crackers or whatever) weren't there, I wouldn't be able to eat them.

Well, I havent eaten when stressed out, I guess I try to get away, and think, sometimes just get in the car and drive, since I have to concentrate on that, I dont think about the stressful stuff for a while. Sometimes you get a different view of things. Vivienne

Well unfortuntelly I find I still eat. I just try to make it a better choice. Some protein of some kind, fruit or a vegetable. Doesn't always work but I try. Sally

This is a hard one for me because somedays I cave! I usually try to do anything that is no where near the food. My favorites are reading, prayer, exercise and walking. When it just seems nothing is going to work, I try to make the best choices I can and get in extra protein foods instead of junk.

Brush my teeth. Stay out of the kitchen. Sometimes I fail and I beat myself up about it...it is a battle each and every time.

I wish I could say I exercise or distract myself, but I usually eat. I try to eat something non-threatening, like SF jello or popsicles, but depending on the situation, it's not always that innocent!

I've been struggling with this recently. I eat SF popsicles, sunflower seeds, and a couple of times, I ate some food I shouldn't have.

I wish I had a good answer for this one... I make better food choices and eat MUCH less though.
