IBS, Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Arthritis? You might be allergic to gluten!

It is my 6th anniversary, so I thought I would start another string regarding Celiac disease. Although my WLS results are awesome, I recently realized that I am allergic to gluten/ wheat. Although I was told I had IBS, it was really a gluten issue. I had also had Fibromyalgia for years ( but had really been in pretty good shape for the last few years) and realized that the gluten issue can aggravate fibromyalgia, arthritis, lupus, migraines etc. If anyone you have these issues, I urge you to look into giving up wheat/ gluten for a few days. My health, energy, alertness improved immediately, so I never looked back. I have been gluten free since 5/07. There are many great websites and books that can help you. It has changed my life. As a side note, since giving up gluten I actually lost inches and a few pounds, mostly becuase I am not bloated/ swollen all the time and the inflammation is gone. My husband joined me on this lifestyle change and also lost weight. He gave up gluten to lessen his severe and lifelong migraines, and it has really helped him. Best of luck to all of you.
