Every time I visit my surgeons office i make my next followup appointment..from there it gets logged into my work calendar so as to block me out of the office for that meeting. As far as my PCP..I go when I am sick or concerned about something...but don't see him with any regularity.

I haven't seen my surgeon since my surgery itself....not even after surgery! I see my NP at 3 mo., 6mo., 9 mo., 1 year, 18 mo., and 2 yr.,3 yr., etc. I see my PCP once a year, have my cholesterol checked 2 X/year. And see my cardiologist maybe once a year. It seems like I am seeing a doctor TOO MANY TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jolene

I had surgery last November. I've had 3 appts with the NP in my surgeons office, and have another next month. I did see my surgeon 2 weeks after surgery....the NP since. I've seen my PCP for my bloodwork follow-up.

I still have at least one more post op visit with my surgeon. From the very beginning he told me I could have my PCP do my blood work if I wanted, and I do see my PCP when ever I need to, and trust him explicitly. The day I could not get in to see my PCP and thought I had something stuck in my throat, my surgeon said to come on in so no worries with either of them. Gayle

I see my surgeon on scheduled appointments ~ next one is in a year. So I use my PCP for everything! She's wonderful.

I just saw my surgeon for my 6 mo check up and was told I wouldn't need to come back for a year unless there were problems. My primary I see whenever I feel the need. Sally
