Do you keep in contact with your surgeon as you lose weight? What about your primary care doc??

I see my PCP every few months for my thyroid blood work and my surgeon I haven't seen since October. They put on a ball for all post ops so I will see him again in April, but then not as a patient until September.

I last saw my surgeon at my one-year appointment last August. I will see him again next August. I keep in contact with my PCP - she's a wonderful woman, and I credit her with much of my success, as she was so supportive and helped me get through the insurance approval process. I visit her office about twice a year for various issues - prior to WLS, I would only go the doctor if I thought I was dying!

I have not seen my surgeon since the day after the surgery. I am seen by the nurse practioner when I go in. I went in for my 2 week, 3 month and next month I go in for my 6 month. Otherwise, I see my pcp for other problems, issues, and regular stuff.

My surgeon's office has a bariatric doctor who sees patients so I don't actually see my surgeon. I have to keep seeing him through 18 months so I still have a 1 year and an 18 month check up to go. My PCP and I get together atleast every 6 months to do labs and more often when I need help.

I have seen my surgeon as required, next appt is June, at 6 months. I dont currently have a pcp, but will be signing up for ins next Monday and will contact someone asap. Vivienne

Every 3-4 months with my surgeon, and every 2 months with my pcp.

I haven't had any complications or problems (thank God) so I just do my regularly scheduled visits. My 6 month post-op w/my surgeon is coming up in the next 2 weeks.

I saw my surgeon at my 6 week and 12 week appts. I will see him again at my one year. I see my pcp every year for my yearly checkup and as needed. Jules

I just saw my surgeon for my 6 month a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure when/if I'll need to see her again. I see my PCP about every 4-6 months for labs.
