What do you plan to do to prevent weight gain as part of the normal aging process as our metabolism slows with age??

i imagine that I will have to reduce my caloric intake some...not really looking forward to this, but not sure what else I could do...I excersize 5-days a week and hate every minute of it..so i doubt adding to that is something that i can do and maintain.

Guess I will just have to keep doing what I have been to try and loose or not gain. Be diligent in everything. Not beat myself up if I have a bad day and try to up the exercise. Sally

I haven't really thought that far ahead yet...I like to assume I am still young - I feel young therefore I am young!!! I think I'll be talking to my nut about this... Good question... Debi

I plan to keep current on my Hypothyroid Meds. I plan to keep current on my Metformin. I plan to weigh myself regularly and exercise regularly. I plan to keep eating healthy.

I hope to keep my metabolism up as long as I can through exercise. I try to add steps whenever I can by walking, parking at the end of the parking lot, etc. I may someday have to find a regular exercise program. But there's no telling for us how our metabolisms will change because of our surgery. I'll be curious to see what it is like once RNY patients start getting to retirement age. How will our surgeries effect the way we eat or are able to eat.

I'm just going to try and stay as active as I can and watch the calories. I journal everything I eat and all of my exercise in Fitday. This is something that I think I will always do, so hopefully, I'll always have a handle on my weight that way.
