Daily Post--4/1/08
For me there are so many things to keep me on track or get me back on when I have some "bad days".
1. The OH website and all the forums are great to get me thinking straight again.
2. The challenges I have joined with reporting in once a week and checking in with the daily posts have been supper!!!!
3. Looking at my "old me" photos and comparing them with recent photos.
4. Hearing compliments from people
5. Trying on new clothes! That really helps me. Right now I have a pair of jeans hanging up in plain sight begging me to lose another 20 pounds so they can fit me.
For remotivating.....I try the 5 day pouch test to get my body moving again. With that I do more exercising too so it really works for me. I need this after a few days of Easter candy, Valentines candy, company snacks, etc.
I look for new things to try and see if that gets me on a losing streak again. Keeping things interesting helps. I find new recipes or new foods and I get excited to try them!

Well I have been off track recently and even though I haven't gained anything I have stopped losing and I really miss watching that scale go down.... I started the 5 day pouch test today and Im hoping that this will help to break my eating habits again and get me back to my early post surgery feeling and will motivate me to get going again and start the scale moving....I also plan on increasing my exercise per week so hopefully this will help out too..... my biggest motivation is that I know I have to get to goal before I can start trying to conceive a baby and that was my main goal of having this surgery in the first place so that is a huge motivator for me....
What motivates me? Several things. First of all, I wear a Medic-Alert Bracelet, which reminds me that I HAVE A CONDITION I NEED TO TAKE CARE OF. I also wear a ring my husband gave me which is the birthstone of my Rebirthday, 11/7/07. This reminds me that I am a new person now with new habits. I also play with my numbers. For example, today I weigh 184.5. This is one half pound away from me weighing something I've never weighed as an adult. This is huge motivation for me. I can find all kinds of ways to use my numbers for motivation. I can take today's weight and I can say "in 10 and a half more pounds, I will no longer be obese, just overweight". Another huge motivator. There's lots of stuff around you to motivate you. You just need to look. I truly believe in the line I put in my signature. "How I respond to challenges says more about me than doing something easy ever will". Another motivator is offering support to those struggling here on this website. Lea told me a while back that she gets so much support from doing this challenge. So, I took that, and I try to be helpful to others on here, which motivates me to continue making good choices in my own life. This is just my two cents, what works for me.

I am not really sure what motivates me or how I get back on track. I know that when I get depressed and fall off the track. I feel tired and need to get the energy back, and when I have my grandchildren over i need all the energy I can get. I listen to the secret to help get me back on track, not sure if that what you call a trick.. Cynthia
