Daily Post--3/10/08
I've bought only a few basics over the past year+ and did laundry often!!! Clothing with stretch ie. cotton w/3% spandex etc...
I'm now fitting into smalls/mediums 8/10/12 depending on label... I found a fortune worth of great items at a fraction of the $ at Marshalls and Ross... true religion, lucky brand. kenneth cole, vertigo, bcbg, nautica, ralph lauren, puma, nike... for pennies!!! I'm well-stocked now!!! Small sizes are CHEAP!!! And one can fit more items in their closets!!! lol!!!
I'll be having reconstructive surgery and have been told to expect to be a size 6/8 after all's said and done... mind-boggling to say the least!!! No complaints though!!!
I snagged a job at Lane Bryant. Just yesterday I got a 55% discount, so I bought a new pair of pants that convert to capris, and some things for my trip in the summer. That's the tricky thing - we're going to Australia, and it'll be their winter. So I need long sleeves and if I don't buy them now, they won't be around in June! I bought everything in two sizes lower than I am now, and if they get too big, I can return them (if I don't wear them of course).
I plan on giving all of my big clothes to my friend (lillovebug) who had surgery a month after me so she can use them.
I gave clothes to friends and bags and bags to goodwill.
I love clothes shopping and have found that things I liked in the past (long shirts and sweaters) are no longer my style. I love fitted blazers and BELTS. And it's amazing that kohl's, penney's, and even the Lane Bryant catalogues (especially Jessica London) have great clearance areas) I stll and probably always will be "plus size" and the smaller plus sizes always end up in the clearances.
