Luckily I still have clothes that were smaller in boxes in the garage that I never got rid of because I was hoping to one day get into them again. So now I'm boxing up the bigger clothes to get rid of those. I'm not keeping those clothes!! The only clothes I'm really having a problem with is my work shirts because my work provides them for us and they will only give us new shirts every 6 months and my shirts are already about 2 sizes too big and I still have at least 3 more months before they will get me a new one!! I'm hoping they will make an exception and get me at least 1 new shirt. They provide us with 4 but it would be nice if I had just one that fit right!
I shop clearance racks everywhere - also frequent Thrift stores - I "sold" clothes at a consignment store, but somehow never got the money!!?? (was told by a clerk that my items were on layaway and later told they don't do layaway - told me that I got my money - cash - but no signature was recorded - stopped going there and tell others not to) Just be very cautious - now if I can't pass along larger clothes I donate to local women's shelters.
I got rid of all my dressier 26 -28s and my surgeons office has a closet full of clothes so I have 3 sizes in the closet that should last me a bit. I am also wearing my sweats and tshirts still because they are so darn comfy. (plus I like it when they get longer and longer). I will prob buy some but not much and since I dont need nice clothes for work Walmart will be fine for now.

buying just a couple things at a time and wearing sweats around the house. I have been buying alot of pj's to wear around the house too. I have also bought some tank-tops to wear under some clothes to extend their use. Now shoes are a differnt story. I was always a 5/12 to a 6 then with weight gain had to go with 7's well now I am back down to my smaller shoes and I had to buy dress, causuals and tennis shoes again. My jewlery also needs to be resized. My wedding band is getting "weigh" to big!
I have only myself to support.. so am very (to much so) tomyself. I have kept myself in new underwear buying monthly as needed. As far as clothes... At about the time I was out of my smallest clothes on hand.. and thinking that I was going to have to start shopping thrift stores...I did buy myself a REAL coat at ST. Vincent..when a DEAR FRIEND from my TOPS club.. gave me 5 bins of clothes... one was full of a coat. jackets. vests, and hoodies.. It was a blesing.. I can tell you. I passed many of my bigger sizes to others in my TOPS club.. and took 3 trash bags to the local Woman's shelter.
Now that I am out of the12 pair of size 18w jeans .. I have been hitting the clearance racks at the local stores.. Found 75% off at Penny's. I buy one nice pair of jeans..and several tops.. There weren't many tops in that bunch.
A very dear friend of mine that had lost 110 pounds has begun to regain..after haveing worked so very hard to lose it. So she has passed on her smaller jeans and I am going to pass my (our) jeans to her. And everything else in the bins have found a happy new home.
But I do buy clothes new.. I have been to the thrift stores but until now my needs have been met. Also last fall when the summer clothes went on clearance my DD bought me several sets of summer clothes.. I certainly plan on being into them by the time it is nice enuff to wear them.. I hope anyway. Alice
I am really struggling with this right now! Where I work we have to dress "business casual" and those kinds of clothes are really expensive. I have been getting things here and there when they are on sale. I have had a couple pairs of pants taken in, but even after the alterations they are still getting to be too big.
I guess I should enjoy this part!

I have been so extremely lucky with this as because my clothes don't fit me that long, I have had many friends who have been extremely kind and handed me down clothes so that I don't have to constantly keep buying new ones. They have saved me so much money and for that I'll be forever grateful.!!!

My sisters friend had WLS about 6 weeks after I did but she was considered a light weight with less then 100lbs to loose. She and her husband both have good jobs so she has been sending me bags and bags of cloths when they got to big for her. I have only had to buy a few pairs of jeans, because she had very few jeans (mostly dress cloths from her job) and she wore short or petite. I consider myself very lucky. As far as my uniforms at work I have been very lucky that they are allowing me to "borrow" pants from the quartermaster supply. As I change sizes I turn in what I have borrowed and get the next size smaller. Shirts I wore really big for a long time and then purchased two new uniform shirts. They are $40 a piece so my boss allowed me to just buy two of them at a time instead of the 5 we are suppose to have. Overall I say I have been pretty blessed in the area of clothing.

I've been limiting my purchases to about every other size. I figure as long as i'm covered, no one will complain if my clothing is baggy. Its hard for me to find clothing that fits in my size (very LONG legs - I'm 5'11") on sale/clearance, and the little town I'm in does not have a Goodwill or re-sale shop.
I'm also a penny pincher, so I can't see the value of buying something when I'm just going to grow out of it within a few weeks.
