How are you coping with your clothes always too big, and how many are you buying to replace what just got to big in a short time? do you buy new clothes all the time? or a few things every week? trade with others? etc????

You know I was talking about this very question today with a friend. I am really frustrated with clothes. My clothes are outgrowing me so fast. I have to shop about weekly for clothes to wear to work. If I could wear jeans or sweats to work it wouldn't be as bad. But I have to wear casual business attire. But, when I go shopping, I will go to Avenue and use a 30% (give or take whatever I have) coupon, or I'll go to Ross or somewhere that has markdowns. Walmart is a good one but their clothes are really cheezy any more. (Cheap looking and not stylish) (My taste & opinion). I don't have anyone to trade with. I'm anxious to get to my goal though. then I can shop anywhere, but I'm not always having to wear Plus sizes anymore.

I lost 70 pounds three years ago, and thank god I kept most of my clothes after I gained it all back. So, I just got back into some stuff I haven't worn in like two years. I'm going to be forced to go bra shopping this week, which is something I've hated all my life. UGH! I'm trying to hold off buying stuff as much as possible, because I know I won't be able to wear it out. But, I had to get rid of my beloved bathrobe (it was trailing on the ground, no way to hitch it up), so maybe I'll get a new one of those. I just hate to spend the money only to wear the things for a couple of months. Just seems like a waste.

I've been in the same size now for about six months, but during my initial period, I gave away all my clothes to friends, people I met on OH, and my surgeon's support group. I didn't get any hand-me-downs from anyone else, except my mom, and her taste is very different from mine. I would usually go buy an outfit or two each week, keeping them as small as possible so they'd fit longer. Luckily, my daughter jumped on the healthy bandwagon and was losing weight at the same time, so we shared a lot of clothing (and still do). I'm still cleaning out my closet, because I know that it will be easier to keep the weight off if I have to squeeze into something than if I just pull out the "fat pants" - so I get rid of anything more than one size too big.

I am so tired of wearing baggy things. I wear my clothes until they almost fall off of me. I've been told by my boss that I need to get clothes that fit, that mine aren't office appropriate. In April some of the people on my state's board are putting together a clothing swap, so I am really looking forward to that! I shop clearance racks all the time. And I'm going to start hitting the thrift stores as soon as I figure out where they are...plus garage sales will be starting up in a month or two here, so I'll be hitting them. The main item I need are pants...my gut is so saggy, my hips are wide, I have a flat butt and skinny little bird legs. So nothing fits me, if the waist fits, the legs and butt are baggy. If the legs and butt fit, I can't zip them.... It will be nice once my body evens out more (I hope). I used to think how much fun it would be to shop if I was smaller, now I still HATE clothes shopping...

I'm lucky enough to have great friends that send me tons of stuff! Other than that, I still wear some of the things I did pre-op. Complete with a saftey pin making them stay on lol

Right now I have a friend I met at my surgeons office who actually lives a block away from me...can you say "fate"...anyway..she started smaller than me and has given me bags of clothes..if I don't fit in them yet..I just hang on to them and some days I wear clothes that fit perfectly and other days they are swimming on me..I'll say one thing the really huge clothes are super comfy now...and like going to work in my pjs...since everyone at work knows about my surgery it is no big deal for me to show up in clothes that don't fit...they will stop and stare and say something like "WOW"..look how much weight you lost already I think its time to retire that shirt don't you???..which is nice to hear!

I always had hopes of returning to a smaller size so I had a closet full of clothes sized 10 -20. But as I shrunk, I took the nicer clothing to a consignment shop and some went to Goodwill and then some ended up in the garbage. I have bought some clothes when they go on sale and so I have new clothes too. But I have been teetering on size 10 and 12 for quite some time now. I haven't given up my 14's however, because some days when I am at home and I am feeling fat, it feels good to put on loose clothing and be comfy. If I could just take off my last 20 pounds, I could wear size 10 comfortably and just stay there. That day will come. Jolene

I had to buy a suit for a presentation at work because all of my clothes were embarrassingly large on me. In the process of buying the suit, I discovered that I actually can enjoy clothes shopping (which I have NEVER have, since childhood). I just have to be careful now not to go overboard, since it is tempting.

I've been up and down this roller coaster so many times that I had clothes from 28s to 19s in the closet lol I'm just now dipping below that so will be out shopping although I won't buy much. My lower body is losing at a faster rate than my top. I've gone from a 28 bottom to a 16 in the time it took to go from 3XL top to a 2XL.... grrr it makes me wonder just how tight were my clothes before? I also work in a warehouse setting at the Post Office so don't have to dress up Lori
