Daily Post--3/7/08
Sorry to run a bit behind today! I had a low-grade migraine going today and am only just getting anything done for today!
Today's topic:
How closely have you followed the new meal plans? Do you follow your surgeon or Nut's plan to a T or do you more-or-less follow it with your own preferences taken into account? OR, did you toss it out the window and do your own thing completely?
I'm doing my best to get in the recommended numbers. The plan is a very loose one that allows for individual tastes. I can eat pretty much anything I want as long as protein starts it and i can tolerate it. This does allow me to have a few treats here and there and not feel guilty about them so I don't feel as if I need to sneak. That's a very positive step for me.

I followed (and still follow) my meal plan, insofar as I can. I'm still not able to do all the food that's on my plan but I DO eat protein first and then a small amount of veggies. I just don't have room for it all yet. My doctor and nutritionist are aware and tell me it will come with time. It's a huge pet peeve of mine that people don't follow their doctor's or nutritionist's recommendations and then I've read people blaming how "the surgery didn't work". I don't mean to be bashing or anything, but why go through all we go through and then "throw it out the window"? It just plain doesn't make sense. "Do I have to follow what my doctor says?" is another one I've seen posted on various places on OH. If it doesn't make sense, then talk to the doctor, don't just refuse the directions.
I never had a nut. I have no insurance and just can't afford it. I do follow the recommendations for WLS in general. I eat 70-80 protein, drink up to 100 oz water, exercise every day( 1 hr walk most days) take my multi vites and calcium. When I have room i have carbs in the form of veggies etc.
